History – Wolcott Bourbon is produced in Bardstown, Kentucky. The brand was founded in 2014 by brothers-in-law, Chris and Matt Wolcott. The Wolcott family has a long history of distilling in Kentucky, dating back to the early 1800s. The Wolcott family has been producing whiskey for over 200 years, and the current Wolcott Bourbon is a tribute to their legacy. According to the bottle it is distilled and bottled by Clear Springs Distilling CO. which is Buffalo Trace-owned.

Value – This is a good bottle for the price. I really enjoyed it and will continue to buy it.

Appearance – Very good looking bottle. Cylinder shaped from base to body with a Short neck. I think the W in the barrel for an insignia looks good.

Nose – Dried cut grass / Vanilla / tobacco

Palate – Tobacco / Leather / Dry / Smoked oak

Finish – Oak / Touch of Floral / Caramel

Summary – In summary, this is a solid purchase for a BiB for under $45. They produced a decently balanced bourbon from start to finish. It displays little heat throughout which could be a disappointment to those who like some heat.

“I haven’t seen hide nor hair of this bottle in a long time and I just so happened to finally run across it and I snatched it up faster than a prairie fire with a tailwind. Overall a solid bottle of bourbon.
