History – Bottle NO. 283. The George Dickel Distillery has a long and storied history. Founded in 1878 by George A. Dickel, the distillery has been producing some of the finest Tennessee whiskey for over 140 years. The distillery is located in Cascade Hollow, Tennessee, and is one of the few distilleries in the world that uses the Lincoln County Process, a unique method of charcoal mellowing that gives the whiskey its distinctive flavor. The George Dickel 15 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey is a special release from the distillery, and is made from a blend of whiskies aged for at least 15 years in charred oak barrels. This whiskey has been known to have a deep amber color and a complex flavor profile, with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak. It is said that it’s smooth and mellow whiskey, with a long finish that lingers on the palate. The George Dickel 15 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey is a truly unique and special whiskey, and is a must-try for any whiskey enthusiast.

Value – Good value for the product you get. Obviously, I’d like it for under 70 but that’s a pipe dream.

Appearance – I love the look of the Dickel 15yr bottle. It just really feels good in the hand and has a sleek look. The whiskey is mahogany in amber in color.

Nose – Leather, Toffee, Vanilla, and oak comprise the nose. A very pleasing aroma.

Palate – Vanilla, oak, hint of caramel, and toffee with little heat. The palate is a bit faint in flavor, however, it is still good.

Finish – The finish is smooth with very little heat. Light oak is featured, and the taste from the palate is carried through to the finish, lasting for a good while. I believe this whiskey would have a nicer finish if it had more heat.

Summary – In summary, this Dickel product is very smooth with little heat that is very good. This whiskey is lacking heat, which is a good thing if that’s how you prefer it.

This is a great pour with great aroma and flavor. The palate being a little weak is the main fault I see. Besides low heat content, but that is really up to the person sipping it.
