History – Winchester does not have their own official website so I had to do a lot of research to find anything about them. Which still didn’t lead to much other than, TerrePURE and Owensboro distilling company work in conjunction on this to sell to Total Wine & More.

Value – For $29.99 this is a pretty good deal I think.

Appearance – Light amber in color. The body of the bottle is rectangular in shape with a short neck with a cork. Reminds me of Leadslingers bourbon bottle.

Nose – The nose is composed of citrus, oak, and caramel. There is zero ethanol noted. A pretty smooth and enjoyable aroma.

Palate – It begins with a nice aroma of oak and caramel. The flavor, on the other hand, does not last long, so you keep sipping.

Finish – Nice caramel, honey, and a touch nutty with oak on the end. The finish is faint, quickly dissipating which is a shame because it was rather good.

Summary – In summary, This is a low-octane 90-proof bourbon that features caramel, honey, and oak throughout the review. Winchester makes for a great sipping bourbon which is exactly what it will have you doing due to the quick fade of the finish. Smooth Ambler Old Scout is somewhat similar to this.

I won’t lie here. One of the main reasons this bottle caught my eye is the name. I’m glad it did because it proved to be a good bourbon for under $35. Solid for beginners or even someone just wanting something with good taste and low fire.
