“Purchase Minor Case Rye at Caskers Here!”
History – Minor Case is a Branded Spirit with MGP ingredients. “As seventh-generation distillers, we have another favorite pastime: reminiscing. In 1871, M.C. Beam began his distilling career under the supervision of his Uncle Jack Beam. By 1883, he was a partner at his own operation, where he brought his son Guy — Steve and Paul Beam’s grandfather — into the business.”
Value – I believe this is expensive at $37.99. There are better options on the market for the same or less money.
Appearance – The rye color is dark gold, with a clean corked short neck and a medium square body. I really like the design of the bottle.
Nose – The nose begins with citrus and progresses to undertones of sherry. I am disappointed with the lack of rye spice.
Palate – The rye heat on the palate is mild to none. Caramel or butterscotch flavors round out the tongue, with hints of sherry.
Finish – The finish is smooth, with next to no spice, with traces of raisins and sweet caramel. Overall, a fair finish.
Summary – In summary, Because of the mild heat and smooth, sweet finish, this is a good choice for someone new to rye whiskey. However, I would recommend Rittenhouse Rye as a better alternative to test the waters. LB distillers try to live by Minor Case Beam’s Motto “Craft only the finest whiskey.”
“The appearance of this bottle is slicker than sh*t on a hoe handle. Hands down my favorite part of this review. An unimpressive nose and an average palate and finish are the other main aspects of my review.“
