History – Heaven’s Door Straight. This bourbon, founded by Bob Dylan, is more on the secret side when talking about mash bills and who and or where it is distilled. Their Bottle and website say they are just distilled and bottled in Columbia, Tennessee. Known to be classified as a bourbon it’s at least 51% corn mash, with a minimum aged 6 years in new oak barrels. Bob Dylan Stated “I wanted to create a collection of American Whiskeys that, in their own way, tell a story. I’ve been traveling for decades, and I’ve been able to try some of the best whiskey spirits that the world has to offer. This is great whiskey.” So I don’t know about you but I am ready to see if it lives up to the hype.

Value – Priced at $49.99 for the 750ML bottle. It is a very good value for that price I believe.

Appearance – I will start this off by saying I love the shape of this bottle. It’s not a plain ole round bottle. It is more of a long rectangle that is narrower at the bottom than the top and has a short neck capped with a cork. This bottle is filled with light to medium copper color sweet nectar.

Nose – I tell you what, this nose is quite tricky. You get some spicy cinnamon, quickly followed by sweet caramel with vanilla. Bringing up the end of this nose is that great oak smell that’s finer than frogs’ hair.

Palate – Quickly taste caramel with hints of vanilla and slight maple. Once again followed by that phenomenal oak lingering on your tongue. Just a small amount of burn toward the end that sits just right actually.

Finish – To be completely honest I wasn’t that impressed with the finish considering how well the rest of the review has gone. You do have lingering burnt oak/caramel with a slight burn. It just fades away too quickly for what I personally like. If you like a quick fade then it would be perfect.

Summary – In the summary of Heaven’s Door straight bourbon, the thing that snagged my attention was the lack of information about this bourbon. When I go to review a product, I want to know everything I can about it. So, I had to dig really deep to find what I did. Other than that, it has been a very satisfying experience and I will definitely be buying Heaven’s Door Bourbon again I recommend it to others as well because I believe it has lived up to the hype. I would like to know who distills it and what the actual Mash Bill is.

This Heaven’s Door Straight Bourbon will catch your interest right from the get-go with the unique design of the bottle and the labeling. It won’t stop there either, as soon as you crack that cork and take your first sip it will be all it takes and you’re hooked.”
